Since buying the car when I lock it I hold the lock button and press the logo twice. The red light on the fob flashes 4 times which apparently stops the fob transmitting and the code being grabbed by bad guys. So hopefully the spare fob battery isn't being depleted.The package has production date of 4/2021 and expiration date of 3/2031. That 3 year old unused battery also measured 2.8 volts. Then I forgot which battery was which, and put one back in the fob. It happened to be the "new" battery. Kind of interesting that I got a low fob battery warning when battery is almost fully charged. Whatever, eh?.
